Please click on a question to see its answers.

Q:The room temperature is not mentioned in the description. Does this have that capability?

A:

Yes this does have the room temperature on the screen at all times.

Q:Can this camera be mounted on the ceiling?

A:

Probably, but I wouldn’t. It’s mounting bracket is meant to slide down on a nail. You can put a nail or screw in the ceiling and then push the camera on it, but I don’t think it would be that secure. You definitely wouldn’t want it directly over the crib if you do that (since it wouldn’t be that secure).

Q:Can you hear both cameras at the same time?

A:

No, you can switch between each camera. Or you can put it on scan mode, which cycles between cameras I believe every 10 seconds or so

Q:Can put the cameras in 2 different rooms? I am about to have my 2nd child & I want to put one in each room which are next to each other. Thanks!!

A:

Yes you can. Then you have the choice to toggle between cameras on your monitor or you can have it “scan” back and forth between them both. We like ours. Good luck.

Q:Does the system interfere with your WIFI on G or N networks or devices?

A:

I have not noticed any interference with the wifi. The only type of interference I’ve noticed is the signal will go out when the monitor is in the vicinity of the microwave and it is turned on.

Q:Can you see the image through internet?

A:

No

Q:Can the monitor have a split screen to see both cameras at once?

A:

No

Q:Does the MBP43 transmit constant video, or does it “wake” on noise / sound?

A:

Video is constant when parent unit is plugged in to outlet only. When operating on battery, after a few minutes the video turns off, and you have to push a button to turn on the video — video on my unit does not come on with noise/sound.

Q:Can this device’s camera connect to your iphone or ipad?

A:

I do not think so.

Q:can you turn the volume down to silent on the parent unit if desired?

A:

Yes!

Q:It says that it’s a color video screen but all I’m seeing is black and white. Has anyone else had this issue?

A:

It is a color screen however when the room is dark the picture appears black and white only because of the reduced light. It’s quite a remarkable little camera for the price.

Q:Where can you buy an additional charger for the monitor?

A:

I would like to know the answer to that too so I could plug the monitor in downstairs and upstairs. I know you can get a custom charger at radio shack but it won’t be the official Motorola charger but it should work.

Q:Do you have to go through several menu options to adjust the volume on the parent unit or does it have easily accessible volume control?

A:

It is very easy to use and adjust volume, zoom, tilt. I am going to add some more cameras because the view is super clear during the day and night. This is an excellent monitor!

Q:Does the camera take batteries, or need to be plugged in

A:

the camera need a plugin, but the monitor has both batteries and plug-in.

Q:Can these camera’s be linked to Iphones also?

A:

No. It only goes to the monitor.

Q:How is this different from the mpb 36s Motorola camera

A:

When I googled it before buying, all I could find was it was a newer model.

Q:Is this a wifi camera???

A:

No it’s not.

Q:If the parent unit is set to view/listen in one room, will it switch to the other room automatically if noise is detected?

A:

No, but you can put the parent unit on scan and it will go back and forth between camera A and Camera B. Works pretty well. I like this system much better than our first video monitor except that the parent unit screen is some what small. We are very happy with our purchase.

Q:I have two kids sharing a room, what the range on the lens? Will I be able to monitor both boys?

A:

You can easily switch back and forth between each camera. There is also a zoom feature on the lens so the camera itself does not always need to be moved.

Q:Can I charge on 220v outlets?

A:

Yes

Q:does this model block out white noise? ie if there is a sound machine going in baby’s room that is constant will that always be playing on speaker?

A:

Yes

Q:what is the battery life on the parent unit? How long will it last, on average, between charges?

A:

If it is unplugged, it will last about four or so hours, so long as the screen is primarily left dark. We use it overnight as well, but that is when it is plugged in and charging.

Q:Does this display the time of day somewhere on the parent unit?

A:

No

Q:How many button presses does it take to switch between one camera and the other?

A:

One

Q:Can the screen be dimmed for night use?

A:

Yes

Q:Is this the 41 model but with 2 cameras?

A:

Yes sir

Q:Does this product support both 110 and 220 volt electricity?

A:

YES

Q:Can I add an extra parent unit to my existing 4 cameras? I need to have 2 parent units with 4 cameras linked to both simultaneously.

A:

No you can’t. That is why I bought them and you are unable to do so. Only one unit can be pared at a time with a camera. Would not recommend if you need 2 units.

Q:Does this have 2 way communication?

A:

Sort of. All sound goes from the camera to monitor. From monitor to camera it’s push to talk. Works well.

Q:Can the out-of-range alert be turned off? Our current monitor beeps annoyingly whenever it stumbles across the same frequency as our WiFi.

A:

I’m wondering the same thing.

Q:Do the IR LED’s illuminate red when they are on?

A:

No. There is a faint greenish light at the bottom of the camera unit, but it’s so light I’d honestly never noticed it until I looked to answer this question. The parent unit also has a couple of small lights that are always visible when powered on.

Q:When the screen is of on the parent unit, is it still scanning between the two cameras?

A:

Yes

Q:Does anyone know if the MBP43 can be purchased with only 1 camera? I can only seem to find the double camera (MBP43-2) option anywhere.

A:

I believe so. I bought mine off of the Motorola site and I added the “Second” Camera as an option.

Q:When I use two-way communication, it alway make annoying static sound like when you are talking on walky-talky, is that normal for this monitor?

A:

No it’s not normal. Mine works really well and no static, my son sleeps on te third floor so it’s very pratical as it saves me from having to go talk to him or talking loud and waking up his brothers

Q:Please what is the voltage of this product? 110V or 240V? Thanks!

A:

The adapter that comes with the device states input: 100-240V ~ 50/60 Hz. Output 6V DC 0.5A. I read this to be that it will take anything between 100 and 240 Volts with either 50 or 60 Hertz.

Q:Does this have a temperature reading on the screen from where the cameras are placed?

A:

Yes. Both cameras seem to have their own temperature sensor which display on the parent unit.

Q:Do the cameras work off of battery power or do they have to be plugged into the wall? (referring to the cameras NOT the parent monitor) If so, how long does the battery power typically last?

A:

They must be plugged in. There is no battery. They come with little hooks to help safely anchor the wires.

Q:Does anyone know if this monitor have the lullabies included in the MBP36?

A:

Yes there are a few but I never really used them. The one time I played with it I found it to be extremely loud and I don’t think there is a way to adjust the volume.

Q:The product is shipped outside USA?

A:

We ship to anywhere in the world.

Q:Is there a delay in two-way communication? Specifically, from when you stop talking to when your child hears you? This was an issue with older models.

A:

There seems to be a brief delay in transmission–sound is projected about a half a second after the source

check-price-on-amazon

Q:If you turn on lullabies, does it do it on both cameras? I’d be interested in choosing which child’s room is playing music.

A:

As far as I can tell, the lullabies come out of the PARENT unit, not the cameras in the baby’s room. I’m not sure if that is by design or if my device is messed up.

Q:does it have vox?

A:

Microphone is always on in baby’s room, not voice activated. Parent must push button on viewing unit to talk to baby from their end.

Q:how is the range? we’ve tried several monitors now and none seem to work well in our home… and I don’t feel we’re pushing the limits with them. thx

A:

the baby’s room is upstairs and i use the monitor downstairs opposite end of house house is about 2,000 square feet

Q:Can this record video?

A:

No… Just live video

Q:Can this camera be wall mounted?

A:

Definitely. Ours is wall mounted about 3′ above the crib, the pan and tilt is a little strange since it’s not on a horizontal surface, but it works fine.

Q:If the parent unit is operating on battery power, is there a way to keep the video on rather than having it turn off after a few minutes?

A:

I don’t believe there is a way to keep the video when using battery power. The battety isn’t strong enough to make such a function practical anyway.

Q:Can i buy an additional screen? if so, will these 2 cameras work with 2 separate screens at the same time without interferance?

A:

I don’t think so. The cameras are paired to the monitor/screen. Pairing to a different screen will override the previous pairing.

Q:Has anyone used this camera with their phone? I read it has the capability, but haven’t seen any feedback on this feature.

A:

This camera does not pair with a phone. The only way to pair with a phone is with a wi-fi camera. This camera transmits through radio frequency.

Q:What is the main difference between this model and the MBP36-2?

A:

I just spoke to a Motorola representative, the MBP43 is the 2013 model and has slightly better video quality but otherwise all the features are identical.

Q:what is the difference between this camera and the MBP36/2 Wireless Video Baby Monitor with Two Cameras?

A:

The MBP36s has the option for split screen when viewing multiple cameras. This one does not.

Q:How many cameras can i add on to this monitor?

A:

You can have up to 4 cameras, but they only sync to one monitor. I bought 2 of the packs thinking I could sync The cameras with both monitors but they do not have that functionality.

Q:Does the monitor run on batteries? If so, do I need to order a specific battery or are they a standard AA or AAA size?

A:

yes runs on a recharchable battery. like a cell phone

Q:Can the cameras from the mpb36 sync with the MBP43?

A:

I don’t believe so. Motorola sent me a MBP43-2 as a replacement for my MBP36, and I tried pairing the second camera I had purchased for the MBP36 with the new MBP43 unit and it would not work.

Q:We had the MBP36 model and the monitor broke so we need to replace it. Can we use the cameras from the older model with this newer model?

A:

same thing happened to me and I’ve called customer service and they said no. They are not compatible, plus the MBP36 is no longer being manufactured :( I guess I will buy either the MBP43 even though it has the same features or maybe try summer infant because it has a real split screen you do not have to scan back and forth between the two cameras.

Q:Can you play lullabies on just one unit or do they automatically play on both?

A:

As far as I can tell, the lullabies come out of the PARENT unit, not the cameras in the baby’s room. I’m not sure if that is by design or if my device is messed up.

Q:Can you record a video?

A:

There is no recording capability built into the monitor, however, you could probably output the video from the unit to a television in order to record.

Q:Is the system “Secure”? meaning can just anyone pick up your camera like a near by neighbor?

A:

straight from motorola:

“Is the signal between the parent unit and the baby unit secure?
Yes, the signal transmitted between the baby unit and parent unit is digitally
secure and therefore safe from unauthorized access.”
